FNTB-SNPs – Functional genetic polymorphism (SNPs) in the human farnesyltransferase (FNTB)- gene for pharmacogenetic application
Enclosed are new functionally relevant SNPs in the regulatory sequences of the human farnesyltransferase (FNTB)-gene, which encodes for the β-subunit of an enzyme that is e.g. involved in the post-translational processing of the Ras proteins.
Distinct genotypes of the SNPs determine the expression of FNTB and influence the incidence of a variety of diseases, the progression thereof and the effects of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies.
