Bone Reconstruction / Fracture Healing: BMP2 Variants with Reduced BMP Antagonist Sensitivity

The novel method acts by replacing central residues and domains within BMP2 which are of prime importance for the specific interactions with its inhibitors. These alterations are aimed to convert the protein into an antagonist-resistant variant, especially against the antagonist Noggin, with increased biological activity. The modulated BMP variants are useful for fracture healing, spinal fusions and bone induction.
