Siemens awarded major orders for the oil and gas industry in Brazil

Brazilian oil major Petrobras is investing extensively in the oil and gas exploration and production area in the Espírito Santo Basin in southeastern Brazil. To process the gas produced offshore, Petrobras is building a gas treatment plant onshore at Cacimbas. For this project Siemens will supply six compressor trains, each comprising one STC-SV compressor driven by a 7.68-MW SGT-200 gas turbine.

After treatment the gas will be transported via pipelines to consumers in northeastern Brazil. Siemens will deliver eleven compressor trains for three pipeline stations along this pipeline. The 17 compressor trains for the two orders will be preassembled in the Siemens facility in Houston, Texas and delivered from there to the customer.

“This major order underlines the growing importance of the oil and gas business for Siemens,” says Frank Stieler, Head of Siemens Power Generation Oil & Gas and Industrial Applications. “Thanks to our global facility network we are able to offer tailored solutions from a single source.”
