Eduard Arzt receives award at Technion in Haifa

Last weekend, Eduard Arzt gave a talk in the course of the "Israel Pollak Distinguished Lecture Series" at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.

Three to four times a year, outstanding lecturers and internationally recognized scientists, who do extraordinary and excellent research and development work, are invited by the Technion to this series of lectures.

Eduard Arzt is one of the few awardees of a German, non-university research institute. Most of the awardees teach at large American universities. "For me, it is both personally and scientifically a great honor to have the opportunity to give a talk at the Technion", says Eduard Arzt, the Scientific Director at INM. "INM hopes that this will promote new top-class cooperations with this Israeli Excellence Institute", continues Arzt.

In the course of this series of lectures, he delivered insight into how the size of various surface structures have an effect on material properties, how such properties can be switched on and off, and which concepts from nature are suitable for this.

With financial support by the Edith and Israel Pollak Fund, the "Israel Pollak Distinguished Lecture series" was initiated at the Technion in 1996 in order to advance scientific and industrial cooperations with international partners.
