INDUSTRIE Lyon 2005 to showcase cutting-edge industrial process

INDUSTRIE Lyon 2005 is a major new industrial process trade fair to be held in odd years from March 2005. Organised by EXPOSIUM, France’s premier organiser of trade fairs, it will be held in Lyons in Rhône Alpes, France’s leading mechanical engineering region. Approximately 800 exhibitors will be grouped over 20,000m², hosting 20,000 French and international visitors.

Following the definitive cancellation of the French ’Exposition Mondiale de la Machine-Outil’ (Machine tools international trade fair), the French capital goods sector (mechanical engineering, machine tools, metal processing, etc.) was in need of a major professional gathering. INDUSTRIE Lyon will showcase equipment, products and services involved in industrial processes to meet the requirements of visitors, who are constantly on the lookout for productivity gains and innovation. It will provide them, in a single visit and under a single roof, with an exhaustive range of solutions for design, production and equipment. INDUSTRIE Lyon 2005 will be held in odd years to complement INDUSTRIE Paris (which is held in even years), but it will be a totally separate event, with its own dynamics and events.

EXPOSIUM has incorporated TRANSFOMETAL (machine tools and equipment trade fair) in collaboration with SEPELCOM and is also taking on MOTEK France (assembly sector trade fair) and CONTROL France (industrial measurement and control trade fair) in agreement with the German organizer SCHALL. In this way these three events will co-exist as specialist trade fairs within INDUSTRIE Lyon, giving the event a unique position in France in the capital goods sector. The other new feature for 2005 will be VISION SHOW, an area within the INDUSTRIE Lyon trade fair that will be dedicated to machine-vision technology and that will play host to component manufacturers and integrators in a single zone. As a cutting-edge technology, machine vision has been essential in many sectors where automated production systems are increasingly sophisticated, for example the automotive, aerospace and pharmaceutical industries.

INDUSTRIE Lyon is international in scope, and will host 20,000 visitors from all over France (mainly Rhône-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur, Burgundy, Franche Comté, Auvergne and Midi-Pyrénées) and other countries (Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and North Africa).
