PRTM Management Consultants and UGS Form Alliance to Increase Strategic Impact of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)

UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, and PRTM, a leading global management consulting firm, today announced that PRTM has joined the UGS Partner Program as a Consulting Alliance Partner.

PRTM and UGS will create integrated solutions linking high-end business strategies to process and system implementations using UGS® PLM technology. The alliance will initially focus on key vertical markets in the U.S., including high-tech, aerospace and defense, medical devices and pharmaceutical, and will expand into Europe and Asia. The relationship will help UGS enhance its market presence and reach new markets with its PLM products.

PRTM will leverage its product development and supply chain expertise to define customer- specific strategies and work with UGS to deliver solutions that provide enhanced return on investment to both the PRTM and UGS customer base. This agreement formalizes a year-long relationship and more closely aligns marketing, client engagement and solution delivery strategies between the two companies.

“The PRTM-UGS relationship has already demonstrated high compatibility in its approach to definition and delivery of business value, with positive client reaction and several early successes,” said John Graham, executive vice president, Global Sales and Services, UGS. “Today’s partnership agreement significantly enhances the ability of both organizations to provide world-class PLM solutions. This partnership also represents an evolution for the PLM industry with the breadth and depth of expertise it brings to companies enabling them to link business strategy to process and systems transformation.”

Business Consulting

PRTM offers management consulting services focused on operational strategy, within the product development and supply chain domains. These services and resulting business transformations are strongly supported by Teamcenter® software, UGS’ digital lifecycle management solution. UGS’ customers can leverage PRTM’s expertise to define higher value business strategies and then more readily realize the business process and systems changes necessary to achieve the defined business value.

“PRTM is respected as a thought leader and operational strategist, and, in our judgment, PLM has reached a point of maturity where an alliance between PRTM and UGS, as two complementary industry leaders, signals a significant increase in the value potential of PLM,” said Mark Thut, director, PRTM's Innovation Leadership Practice. “The strong relationship we have developed with UGS has shown great value for the companies we serve.

“Although in most instances PRTM will continue to engage with clients from a technology neutral viewpoint, the ability to represent greater knowledge of world-class PLM technology and to develop joint engagement practices and solutions with a world-class technology provider enhances the practical value of PRTM’s operational strategy work and the positive business impact of the resultant client transformations,” added Thut.
