French logistics expertise is transported to Multimodal 2010

The French Pavilion will offer a unique environment for visitors to discover new products and services, and to find potential business partners. The participating French companies are aiming to reinforce their professional contacts and explore new business opportunities between France and the UK on the occasion of Multimodal 2010, which will take place at the National Exhibition Centre, in Birmingham (England), from 27 to 29 April.

The companies due to attend (Stand No800) are listed below; a more comprehensive catalogue with full details on each of the exhibitors will be available upon request.

Atlantic RF

Ever since 2003, Atlantic RF has stood out as one of the leaders on the active RFID market, with the company’s production exceeding two million modules delivered worldwide. Atlantic RF’s know-how covers the remote reading of gas and water meters, as well as Search And Rescue Satellite-Aided Tracking (SARSAT) and asset tracking.

During the Multimodal exhibition, Atlantic RF will unveil IDTREL, which is the answer to issues encountered in industries using Returnable Transport Items (RTI). IDTREL also represents a new generation of innovative RFID tags, as produced by Atlantic RF. The company stresses the fact that these RFID tags have a 10-year lifespan and combine ‘active’ and ‘passive’ benefits.

Champagne Ardenne Développement (CADev)

CADev (Champagne-Ardenne Développement) is the regional investment-and-promotion agency for Champagne-Ardenne, in north-eastern France. CADev’s role is to provide bespoke solutions, free of charge, in order to help international investors with their set-up projects, including aspects such as logistics, manufacturing, services, etc. The central location of Champagne-Ardenne in the north-west of Europe makes it an excellent location for meeting the expectations of players in the logistics market.

Saint-Omer Développement

Saint-Omer Développement is an economic development agency situated in the heart of the Euro-region. The agency helps in the search for premises on behalf of entrepreneurs and investors (including situations where a company based outside the region takes over a local business). Its remit includes identifying opportunities for economic development and zonal land use across given geographical areas within the region.

Socotra Logistics

Established in the 1980s, Socotra Logistics is a haulage company that employs 25 staff and provides a range of logistics solutions, including international transport for import and export (full loads and bulking), storage, and handling. Socotra is a specialist in the English market, and its trucks operate daily between France and Britain.

Socotra’s team is made up of professional and experienced drivers, who enjoy the support of a well-structured administrative back-office based in Arques (in northern France). The company guarantees a high quality of service for any kind of product (standard, hazardous, fragile, etc.) and in a range of packaging options (including coils, for instance).

Transport Saint Arnould (TSA)

Transport Saint Arnould (TSA) is a French haulage company that was established in the 1990s. TSA specialises in full loads and part-loads for shipping from the UK to various European destinations. TSA can offer British-based companies a full distribution service across France, covering all loads, from a small item to a full load.

The company operates a fleet of 230 units, with 300 trailers, and most of TSA’s drivers are ADR-trained. [ADR refers to the European agreement for the transport of dangerous goods by road, and covers rules relating to the shipment of toxic or potentially toxic substances.]

About the French Trade Commission

The Trade Commission of the French Embassy in London promotes trade development between France and the UK by offering a range of services to French companies. The Services Industry Department organises B2B events in the form of conferences and networking opportunities, mainly in London.

Multimodal 2010 will take place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham (England) from 27 to 29 April 2010 between 10.00am and 6.00pm. (On the last day, the trade show closes at 4.00pm.) French companies will be on Stand No800.
